Training Events – well received in Beijing and Xiamen 12 October 2011

As part of our ongoing support to centres in China, SQA held a training event for new centres, and a centre update event for existing centres in Beijing and Xiamen between September 21st and September 26th.

At the centre update events in Beijing and Xiamen senior staff from different departments in SQA gave centres an update on new developments planned by SQA. Martin Hughes, Head of Operations welcomed all the delegates and introduced the following SQA presenters.

SQA Training Event

Helen Bennett, Centre Support Manager, gave an overview of Navigator and gave advice to centres on how they can check Navigator themselves to make sure that their registrations, entries and results are up-to-date.

Matthew McCullagh, Quality Manager gave an update on SQA’s plans for Quality Assurance.

Martyn Ware, Head of e-learning and assessment outlined SQA’s initial plans for providing on-line support materials and asked for centres to give their feedback so SQA can prepare a longer-term plan.

Mary Gao, Quality Enhancement Manager, gave an introduction to SQA’s plans to update the HND frameworks, starting from September 2012.

And lastly, Toni Yang, Business Development Manager, presented SQA’s new website, developed specifically for our centres in China.

All of the SQA team was delighted to meet with centres and our partners Beijing Yinhong, to discuss centre needs and wishes and ensure that SQA continues to meet centre requirements in the long term.
