HND Administration and Information Technology

The SQA HND in Administration and Information Technology can improve your prospects of employment in an office environment as a senior administrator, administrative manager, office manager or equivalent.

The SQA HND covers all aspects of office administration and you will develop specialist IT skills in word processing, spreadsheet and database software, as well as practical use of social media software and web applications for business purposes. You will develop interpersonal skills and experience of research, planning and organising your work. You will also develop knowledge of legal and ethical issues in relation to the workplace and management of data and information.

The SQA HND in Administration and Information Technology consists of a total of 30 Unit credits. Each Unit comprises of approximately 40 timetabled learning and 40 hours self-guided learning and study. They usually take two academic years to complete but this time frame is flexible.

The unit "Communication: Analysing and Presenting Complex Communication" DE3N 34 has been revised by the unit "Communication: Business Communication" H7TK 34. Centres may continue to enter candidates on the Unit "Communication: Analysing and Presenting Complex Communication" DE3N 34 but all candidates must have completed and also submitted results for the unit "Communication: Analysing and Presenting Complex Communication" DE3N 34 by no later than .

Centres are encouraged to move over to the Unit "Communication: Business Communication" H7TK 34 as soon as possible. All new entries after must be for the Unit "Communication: Business Communication" H7TK 34.
