The SQA HND in Business with Marketing provides you with an up-to-date insight into all aspects of business, management, and administration, and also allows you to specialise in marketing. Marketing is an important aspect of business that involves conception, pricing, promotion and distribution to create exchanges that satisfy objectives.

The SQA HND in Business with Marketing is designed to provide you with theoretical business knowledge and practical skills, combined with the essential elements of marketing an employer will expect you to have for a variety of business and marketing careers.

The SQA HND in Business with Marketing consists of a total of 30 Unit credits. Each Unit credit is designed to take about 40 hours teaching and learning (though it may take more or less time than this).

The Unit "Marketing Research Theory" FK8M 34 has been revised by the Unit "Marketing Research Theory" HH9T 34.  Centres may continue to enter candidates on the Unit "Marketing Research Theory" FK8M 34, but all candidates must have completed and also submitted results for the Unit 'Marketing Research Theory' FK8M 34 by no later than 31/7/20. Centres are encouraged to move over to the Unit "Marketing Research Theory" HH9T 34 as soon as possible and all new entries after 31/7/20 must be for the Unit "Marketing Research Theory" HH9T 34.

Assessment Support Pack: F84N 34 Business Contractual Relations

The Assessment Support Pack for this Unit has been revised. Question 3 on page 18 has been amended for consistency with the relevant question in the solution on page 21. It is confirmed that this question concerns 'negligence in the workplace'.  The publication code for this revised Assessment Support Pack is F84N 34/CASP0001.

The Assessment Support Pack for this Unit has been revised since its publication in August 2015 and is now available on the secure web pages for the relevant HN frameworks listing all Assessment Support Packs. It has been amended in line with the introduction of the new Consumer Rights Act 2015 which came into effect in Scotland in October 2015. The amendments made are relatively minor and therefore, do not warrant a change of Unit code or title.

It is anticipated that the introduction of the new Act could facilitate a smoother delivery of the Unit due to some of the existing legislation being incorporated into the one as well as the inclusion of some new areas not previously covered such as Digital content.

Please note references to the now out of date legislation in learning and delivery materials will only be accepted if the above Unit has been delivered prior to the introduction of the new Act in October 2015. Care is to be taken to ensure the Assessment Support pack used corresponds to the Unit Specification in use at the time of the Unit delivery.

The Unit 'International Marketing: An Introduction'  DG6M 34 has been revised and replaced by the new Unit 'International Marketing: An Introduction' H8PD 34.  Currently, centres may continue to enter learners for the Unit 'International Marketing: An Introduction'  DG6M 34, however all learners must have completed and also submitted results for this Unit by no later than 31/7/17.
 
Centres are encouraged to move over to the new Unit  'International Marketing: An Introduction' H8PD 34 as soon as possible and all new entries after 31/7/17 must be for this new Unit

The Unit "Communication: Analysing and Presenting Complex Communication"  DE3N 34 has been revised by the Unit "Communication: Business Communication" H7TK 34.  Centres may continue to enter candidates on the Unit  "Communication: Analysing and Presenting Complex Communication"  DE3N 34  but all candidates must have completed and also submitted results for the Unit "Communication: Analysing and Presenting Complex Communication"  DE3N 34 by no later than 31/7/16.

Centres are encouraged to move over to the Unit "Communication: Business Communication" H7TK 34 as soon as possible. All new entries after 31/7/16 must be for the Unit "Communication: Business Communication" H7TK 34.
