SQA has been delivering professional development conferences in China since 2012. These events support centre staff, coordinators, tutors and assessors, with continuing professional development. You can read about our most recent conference below. If you want information from earlier events, please contact jimmy.zhang@sqa.org.uk
The Scottish Qualifications Authority welcomed 80 delegates from 33 of our 35 centres to the 2024 Professional Development Conference in Shanghai, China.
The theme for this year’s conference was - looking back, moving forward. We have established a strong partnership with our centres in China over the past 20 years, including delivering several professional development conferences. We wanted to reflect on the good practice we developed and look ahead to what’s new to keep progressing.
This was our first in-person conference in five years, so we were enthusiastic to communicate with centres old and new. The aim of the conference was to apply the principles of the Circle of Success, including reviewing good practice and to provide opportunities for delegates to talk to subject experts and peers to help them plan and prepare for delivery and assessment for the year ahead.
Special thanks to Qin (Corrine) Zhou from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics for sharing her expertise on delivering Business Fundamentals with Emerging Technologies, it was an excellent presentation demonstrating good practice and the value of peer-learning and sharing support.
Some presentations from the conference are available from the CPD materials webpage.

At the end of each day, we gave delegates the opportunity to ask SQA panel questions. Here is a record of the questions and answers.
